Welcome to the Parish Health Ministry
We integrate faith and health; we promote physical, emotional, social and spiritual well-being. We are only as healthy individually as we are as a community. One person's problems affect the whole and the whole community 's problems affect each person in it.
Some of the activities we do.
Visitation
Checking on shut-ins, the ill, the grieving, and the lonely.
Transportation
Taking to medical appointments, grocery, or just a time away from home.
picking up prescriptions or staying with the family so you can.
Emergency Care
Watching family when a crisis occurs.
Handy-man (woman).
Health
Provide community health workshops/education.
Teach health by newsletter, bulletins, web site, and bulletin boards.
Address specific health issues by one on one in person or phone such as:
Diabetes; ideas on managing on your blood sugar, by the type or amount of food, exercise, or timing of your medication.
Hypertension/blood pressure, I will check it for you or teach you how.
Hyperlipidemia/high cholesterol, obesity, stroke, etc.

"It Is Okay To Talk About Dying"
Summary of program held Sept. 5:
You are going to die, have a family meeting now, you are in denieal if you
think you are going to live until tommorrow, 5 things you have to say now.
1. Forgive me (for any wrongs I may have done against you).
2. I forgive you (for any wrongs I feel you have done against you).
3. Thank you (for the things that I took for granted, for your love and support).
4. I love you!
5. Good-bye (when God is ready for me I am ready)
Need to do this often, practice frequently, always be prepared.
First Place Weight Management Program
Every Wednesday at the parish center 6:45pm till 8:00pm
Spiritual support and scripture to help enhance weight loss.
This is a twelve week program, the next new session starting Oct. 29.
