HANDS OF CHARITY MINISTRY
We are truly blessed in this community with many individuals who are willing to give their time, talents and treasures to lift up others. Our parish's Hands of Charity ministry is comprised of such a group of people who make "Prayer Shawls." Since the ministry started in June of this year, over forty shawls have been knitted or crocheted and given to deserving individuals.
The needlecrafters work at their own pace with whatever pattern they choose, and there is no set number of shawls anyone needs to make. Meetings are held each second Thursday of the month at the parish center from 7 to 9 p.m. Anyone willing to learn is welcome, as are individuals who would like to help deliver the shawls.
The shawls are delivered to our elderly or infirm, whether the parishioners resides in a nursing home, is experiencing an extended hospital stay, or living at home. Prayers are said in hopes that the individual will regain strength, accept their suffering, or live in comfort. If you know of anyone who would appreciate receiving a shawl, contact Rhonda Hohler at 634-9056 or the parish office at 634-1875.
Monetary donations are also welcome. Just put your donation into and envelope, mark it "Hands of Charity," and drop it in the collection basket. Thanks to all those helping to make a difference by being involved in this ministry.
