In 1843 Father Kundek came from Jasper and founded St. Celestine Parish.  Since that time the cemetery has been hallowed ground.

Lying on a grassy hillside amid rolling hills, the cemetery is beautifully maintained.  The first of our ancestors buried here was Anna Poch who died 2 November 1843.  A statue of the crucifixion marks the burial site of some of our former pastors.  In 2005 a wall of decorative stone was erected to separate the new and old areas of the cemetery.

Our unborn infants are remembered by a beautiful monument.
From Captain Alles who fought in the Civil War, through veterans of World War I, World War II, the Korean and Vietnam wars, St. Celestine Cemetery is a respectful place to honor those who served our country and have who have died so that we can enjoy the freedom we have today.

At the eastern end of the cemetery, a reproduction of the Pieta statue marks a restful place for prayer, meditation, and remembrance of our loved ones.
